Privacy Notice

This notice explains what information may be collected when someone uses Tooele County Released Inmates, how that data supports the service, and when another party may receive it. It also covers cookies, outside links, security, and user choices. Continued use of the site indicates acceptance of these practices.

Information You Submit

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. This site does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's separate privacy terms govern the query after submission.

An email or contact message is retained as needed to read and answer it. That correspondence is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.

Technical Data and Cookies

Ordinary web systems can record technical details when a page loads. Those details may include:

  • The visitor's internet protocol address.
  • The browser type and version.
  • The device type and operating system.
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them.
  • The referring website, when available.
  • Dates and times of requests.

Cookies and similar tools help measure how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or delete them, although blocking cookies may change how some features work.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports the operation and improvement of the service. It may be used to:

  • Keep pages available, stable, and responsive.
  • Send a search request to the selected outside provider.
  • Understand which pages and links are useful.
  • Detect faults, misuse, or security problems.
  • Display advertising that may reflect general interests.

Links and Advertising Systems

Links point to Tooele County Sheriff resources, Utah corrections and court portals, federal services, laws, and private search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's own privacy policy controls its collection and use of data.

Some advertising partners may use their systems to recognize activity across more than one website and select interest-based ads. That tracking occurs under the partner's technology and terms, not as an official Tooele County or Utah government function.

Parties That May Receive Data

Personal information is not sold by this site. Limited data may be processed or disclosed to:

  • Search partners that handle submitted queries.
  • Analytics providers that measure site use.
  • Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
  • Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

Standard administrative and technical safeguards are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No internet-connected service can be guaranteed fully secure, however. This notice does not promise that a breach or transmission error can never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a user may ask to:

  • Receive a copy of personal data held by the site.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete data that is no longer required.
  • Opt out of processing where an opt-out right applies.

These choices do not control public records held by the Tooele County Sheriff, Utah courts, UDC, or another agency. Requests about an agency record must go to that custodian under Utah's Government Records Access and Management Act, Title 63G, Chapter 2. Section 63G-2-201 governs access to public records, while Section 63G-2-204 governs written requests.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services, providers, or legal duties change. A new version becomes effective when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
