USCF Release Paths
The Utah State Correctional Facility, or USCF, is a state prison operated by the Utah Department of Corrections. It is located at 1480 North 8000 West in Salt Lake City. It is not a Tooele County jail. A person sentenced in a Tooele County court may enter UDC custody and later complete state release processing here, but the Tooele County Sheriff's local booking record cannot certify that prison discharge.
Utah separates the release decision from day-to-day custody. The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole decides whether and when an eligible state prisoner is paroled and can terminate a sentence. UDC carries out the order, maintains custody and supervision data, and processes the physical release. Adult Probation and Parole, known as AP&P, supervises many people after parole. Parole means supervised release from a prison sentence. Discharge means the sentence or supervision has ended.

Confirm a USCF Release
The best check for a Tooele County case uses several records in sequence. UDC's live public tool covers people currently incarcerated or under probation or parole supervision. The Board search holds hearing and decision information. VINE sends custody-change notices. Each source answers a different question, so no single missing result should be treated as complete proof.
- Open the UDC Offender Search and search the exact name or UDC offender number.
- Match the record by offender number and other available identifiers. Read the status and location exactly as posted.
- Review Release Date/Type. If it says N/A, do not infer a date or substitute a hearing month.
- Search the Board's hearing and decision system for the operative order and its effective date.
- Check Utah VINE for the reported event, then use UDC or AP&P to verify current custody or supervision.
- When a fully discharged record no longer appears, request the UDC record and retain the Tooele County court record and Board order.
A Board hearing is not a release. The Board says decisions are not made at the hearing and commonly post two to six weeks later.
A current parole result means the person is outside prison but remains under state supervision. It is not the same as a full discharge. Likewise, movement to a community correctional center is a UDC placement, not an unrestricted end to the sentence.
USCF Offender Search Fields
UDC accepts a name or offender number. The public detail should be transcribed as it appears because fields can change and not every record displays a useful date. The exact release field documented for Tooele County is “Release Date/Type.” It may show N/A. The public search also does not promise a record for each person who has completed all UDC supervision.

A person released only from the Tooele County Detention Center may never appear here. UDC is the right system only when state incarceration or supervision applies. If the person served a Tooele County misdemeanor term, use the Tooele County Sheriff release sheet and court judgment instead.
USCF Parole Release Orders
The Utah Board hearing and decision search accepts first and last name, optional middle name, offender number, or a date range. Results may show an upcoming hearing, earlier decisions, an effective release or parole date, rehearing information, and a linked Board order. The order's exact language matters.
Original hearings, rehearings, rescission matters, paper reviews, and parole-violation hearings serve different roles. A granted date can still be reviewed or rescinded before it takes effect. Pending charges, discipline, reports, or unmet release conditions can also change the path. Utah does not use a universal rule that every prisoner serves 85 percent. It uses indeterminate sentence ranges, Board review, offense-specific limits, and individual decisions.
For a Tooele County case, pair the Board order with the original Tooele County court judgment. The court sets the sentence range. The Board acts within its statutory authority, and UDC records the current state custody or supervision status. These documents form a stronger chain than an isolated calendar date.
USCF Tuesday Release Processing
UDC says paroles and releases are processed every Tuesday, with most completed at the Utah State Correctional Facility. Family or support pickups for people housed at USCF or Central Utah Correctional Facility are asked to arrive at 9 a.m. Those arrival instructions do not guarantee the minute a person will exit. State processing can take one to four hours.
The release building handles identity checks, paperwork, conditions, and the transition set by the state record. A person paroling to a community correctional center is transported there by Corrections. For a community release, an approved pickup may leave after processing. People without a ride may be taken to a nearby UTA TRAX station and are released last. These are UDC release-day practices, not services promised by the Tooele County jail.
Before traveling, verify the current parole or release date through UDC or the Board. A family plan based only on a tentative hearing month can fail. A release condition, changed order, new case, or other hold may alter the event.
Note: Tuesday is the documented processing day, but the posted Board order and current UDC confirmation control each person's release.
USCF Release Dates Can Change
Utah's indeterminate system does not turn the sentence range into one automatic door date. The Board aggregates concurrent and consecutive sentences, sets a hearing under its rules, reviews the case, and issues the operative decision. A hearing month or guideline can move. A Board order with an effective date is stronger evidence, yet the order can still be reconsidered before execution.
Utah Code 77-27-5.4 provides one earned-time route. Completion of an approved recidivism-reduction program in a case action plan can produce a four-month credit per qualifying program, up to two programs and eight months, subject to exclusions. Major discipline, new charges, or a rescission hearing can cause a loss of credit. A person with no current release date does not gain a self-executing door date merely by completing a program.

Tooele Prisoners Released Through USCF
A UDC prisoner can be housed in a county contract bed while remaining a state prisoner. Tooele County Detention Center participates in the UDC Inmate Placement Program. UDC says a state client held in a county jail will almost always be transported to USCF for release. Direct state release from the county jail is extremely rare.
This creates two distinct records. The Tooele Sheriff may document transport out of its building. UDC and the Board document the state release that occurs later. A name disappearing from the county roster during transport is not proof that the person has entered the community. Follow the UDC offender record, Board order, VINE event, and AP&P status until the state outcome is clear.

USCF Release Contact Route
USCF is the physical release site for many Tooele County state cases, but person-specific legal decisions remain with the Board and current supervision questions belong with UDC or AP&P. Use the public search before calling so the offender number, posted location, and date field are ready. Do not rely on generic arrival instructions as a substitute for a confirmed event.
